Cancer is a cardinal water sign that is ruled by the moon. Cancer's symbol is represented by the crab. A little crusty, a little snappy, sometimes impenetrable, always sensitive, and used to walking around with their heart on their sleeve. Life for our Cancerian friends can sometimes be pretty intense, as you can probably imagine. Because their emotions are giant and deep, like the sea, that shell keeps them from getting bashed against the rocks with the tides.
The main recipe that makes up our Cancerian friends is one part watery emotion, one part intuitive insight, two parts nurturing homebody, and a dash of bitch. Sorry, but that's the recipe, as much as I'd like to offer a substitute, you need that little snappy claw to get that authentic Cancerian sign just right. Besides, who doesn't love a little bitch now and then? Right!
My mom and youngest daughter have Cancer moons. Both wanted/want lots of kids, and to live on a farm with quilts, clotheslines, chickens, and endless iced tea. Animals love them. They take sentimental nostalgia to other levels that even Pisces can't relate to, and they are loyal to a fault. Cancers are the gems of the zodiac, they shimmer and provide light in the darkness, but they are also hard as a rock. Getting hit over the head with a moonstone still hurts even if it glows.
Cancer's nocturnal river is vast, deep, and secret. It can be a little frustrating for the rest of the zodiac signs to know what's going on when the Cancer you know and love is barricaded behind a shimmery shell that beckons you to enter through a door that is magically welded shut. I'm not actually sure if there is a key to open it. You might think that you have the key and that you can come and go as you please, but I suspect that isn't true. I would be willing to bet that there is always a hidden door that only our Cancerian friend knows the combination to. My advice is to pretend that the door doesn't exist and enjoy the key to the outer doors so that you and your Cancer loved one can live in peace.
I think empathic should be the keyword for Cancer. They were born feeling all the things, which is probably why they need the crab shell. I see it in my daughter; she is a spitfire, but lord help me if she sees one of the Sarah McLachlan animal commercials. After one of those air, she'll need a whole day of hugs and reassurance that millions of people are donating to help the animals. My mom is the same way. Life as a kid was a blend of nurturing and the constant reminder that without empathy, life is meaningless.
Due to their intense inner emotional world, Cancers need to protect themselves from the outside world a little bit. Usually, they don't come out of their shell until they get to know you, and once they do, it is super important that you value the compliment. If you brush it off and hurt your Cancerian friend... You'll literally never see behind the shimmering shelled door again. Not even Gandalf will be able to get that door open.
You may have a friend who is a Cancer and you may notice that they are always changing their interests, beliefs, style, food choices, etc. This is because of that emotional sea I mentioned before. They feel things, and by feel, I mean FEEL. One thing to remember is that while the outside of your Cancerian friend is ever-changing, the part that is behind the shimmery door never changes. That is solid. When I say solid, I mean like, centuries-old tree roots, solid. This is one thing that sets them apart from our Piscean friends. Pisces sometimes have a hard time not allowing the empathy they feel to become their own personal experience, whereas the Cancer empathizes so powerfully they decide to try out the experience, but while they do, they always know that this is not "theirs". Basically, we have to remind Pisces to keep one foot firmly on the earth so as not to float away, while Cancer has to remember to crack the door on occasion to allow some of the empathy to clear out so they see through the haze.
Cancers are also incredibly strong emotionally. You might not think so after what I've written so far, but this is just a fact. Part of the recipe that I failed to mention above is the part that is unlisted, the hidden list of ingredients if you will. That's where the strength part is listed and where you can also find things like quiet wisdom, a moral compass that is aligned to true north, and a lack of patience that they work to keep hidden along with their many insecurities. I think the biggest takeaway you should leave with is that to know and love a Cancer is to know and love life itself.
Our soap is handmade with a luxurious blend of oils and butters and is always palm and phthalate-free. This soap is 100% vegan and cruelty-free. Each bar of soap weighs approximately 6.5 oz but because our bars are hand-cut, weight and design will vary slightly.
How to use:
To help your soap last as long as possible, make sure to allow your soap to dry between washes and keep it out of the direct shower stream. We recommend using a soap dish that is designed to keep soap dry.
